Board Vacancy
The Farrell Area Board of School Directors is seeking applicants for an open board position. The board accepted the resignation of Sue Rado at its regular business meeting on May 11, 2026. Candidates for school board must be 18 years of age or older and have been a resident of the school district for at least one year prior to the appointment. The person appointed will serve until the November 2, 2027 General Election is certified. The seat will be on the 2027 municipal election ballot for a 2-year term and resume it's 4-year term in 2029.  
 
Any qualified candidates for the school board position should return a completed application, résumé and a Statement of Financial Interests for 2025 no later than noon on Friday, June 5, 2026, to:  Farrell Area School District, Administrative Offices, ATTN: Board Secretary, 1600 Roemer Boulevard, Farrell, PA 16121. Applications, résumés, and the Statement of Financial Interests can also be faxed to 724-346-0223, ATTN: Board Secretary.   Receipt of each application will be acknowledged.
 
Interviews for interested candidates will be conducted Monday, June 8, at 5 p.m., at a regular school board meeting, and candidates must be available for the interview. The interviews will be held in the Farrell Area Administrative Offices and will be open to the public. The board will vote on and appoint a candidate that evening as part of the regular board meeting.

Meeting Schedule

The Farrell Area School District Board of Education will hold its monthly meetings for the year 2026 as follows:
 
Public Work Sessions will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of the month or the second Tuesday if the second Monday is a holiday and/or school is closed. Regular Public Board Meetings will be held immediately following the Public Work Session.
 
The Board Reorganization will be held at 5:30 p.m. on December 7, 2026
 
Note:  There will be no meeting held for the month of July unless duly advertised for a special reason.
 
All meetings will be held in the Farrell Area School District Central Office Board Conference Room
